Monday, Monday

It's Monday! It's cold! I am cleaning! And yes, there will be snow! Which I do not mind- so pretty as it falls and covers the ground.  And and and...  we are 1 day post the RAVENS victory! The game was very exciting and I wasn't sure about that last 1/2 when SF showed up to the game! Crazy! But none the less very exciting.

Today started out busy and has continued to be busy!  It's day 22 of "The Purpose Driven Life", more and more eye opening each day, so basic, but sometimes that's a great place to start!  You know lets start at the very beginning... Ha! Actually he is a random thought thinking of that song and movie... I loved the Yankee candle My Favorite Things collection that was introduced in the fall!  My favorites were brown paper packages and warm woolen mittens!!! Sorry, yes, that was a very random thought! Ha!

Back to today... hmm Day 22, that's right...I finally filled pictures into a frame we were given as a gift 2 years ago!  It looks okay, there is a large picture space in the center- Not much into pictures of that size, so I have to see what I want to place there.  Maybe our last name monogram???  Project Check.  And the normal  routine, cleaning, laundry, workout.  Oh and I worked, I was CPOE remote  today- quite a few tricky calls!  Keeps me on my feet though! Ha! And our team is awesome at helping out when I need them!

For tonight, its all about relaxing, and for that I am thankful! Happy Monday lovelies!

Simplicity, The New Black

Well it was time!  My blog face had to change!  While I loved my old look, I wanted something more classic, more simple.  Ah yes, I do love simplicity! Ha!

This month I have been cleaning out all month, each room individually, transpiring a fresh look throughout the house!  Amazing- I never knew we had so  much we absolutely never use or never knew we had?! It all just accumulates.... huh? I am not sure how I can be so thankful , but so exhausted by all of the "things".  It is a reality check for sure!  Cheers to a more-frugal-less-wasteful-simplistic 2013.

Happy. Ecstatic. Blessed. Wow.

Happiness Hands
Happy. Ecstatic. Blessed. Wow.  None of these words can express how I am feeling right at this very moment. 2013, off to a great start! First, I have to brag on my hubs a bit... I am so proud of him, let me just say, so proud.  At the end of last year, he attempted a career change to sacrifice what he loves doing to be home with me each night.  So unbelievably thankful for this.  And while it did not work out, many blessings have evolved from this transition.

Blessing 1: A New Job Opportunity! Yes, my husband is starting a new job today, that offers the schedule we have been hoping for for years. Thanks God! While it is still in the offshore industry, there is so much more growth and opportunity here!  A schedule that offers time for us to be together more and apart less.  A schedule that allows us to be able for the first time to contemplate starting a family.   A schedule that allows us happiness...

Blessing 2: A New Spark!  Being apart from Danny since before we were married, made us strong.  I love the butterflies I get knowing he is coming home and seeing him for the first time after a few weeks/months.  I was so afraid with the transition that we would take for granted our time together, meanwhile losing that excitement.  And the blessing is that we grew so much more closer then we would've imagined during these last few months.  The hardships with the transition and the faith trials were blessings in disguise.  Its hard to explain in words, but it definitely has redefined us!  Thanks God!

Blessing 3: Time.  I feel like time is a precious gift.  While it is always constant, some days go by in an instant, and others drag on and on.  It is puzzling how that works! HA!  You can never get time lost back, and you can't erase or jump ahead, these are all facts we know.  But truly it is a gift- how we spend our time, who we spend it with, truly a gift.  It has become evident to me that spending time with those close to me is my utmost goal.  Spending my time focusing and caring about others and less about me will be the greatest blessing.  Making memories with family and friends, sounds like a great way to spend my time!  This will be truly clear when Danny will be off work for a month at a time!  time= work less < friends/family more

I am not responsible for any of these blessings, I am thankful to God who is ultimately responsible.  I definitely deal with struggles but am on a mission, to be more positive, more focused and to define my purpose.  This is a start and today is a happy day  for sure <3 p="">

Vintage Boston's

So recently I have been thinking of modifying our guest bathroom.  Currently, it is a deep red tone with gray and black and white decor.  While that may make you squirm, I promise it looks good! Our bathroom art is an old vintage magazine cover and it has changed multiple times in the 3 years we have been here.  I love the red, but I think I need to tone it down a little.  I would like to go with a vintage Boston terrier theme, in remembrance of my Bean girl and to celebrate our Magnolia!  The above picture is not the wall art I am looking for by the way! Ha! I just liked it and I am not in a place where I can upload a personal photo- so I borrowed from the web! Ha!  Anyway, I am picturing the art in my head, a more neutral wall color, monogrammed towels and a chic shower curtain to tie it all together.  Yup, I am sure my mind is made up and that my husband will shutter at the thought of covering up the red! Ha!  Poor guy, I just change my mind too often; yet again that's why he loves me ;)

This is just a random Friday thought! Ha! I am killing time, or at least trying too, so I thought a new project idea, and a new blog post!  When it is completed I will post the before and after shots!  Vintage Bostons? Why didn't I think of this before! Ha!  Happy Friday xoxo!

A new beginning...

Sometimes in life, we have new beginnings, I think you would all agree. And this being said, this year 2012 is definitely a fresh start! A rough start, but a fresh one! Ha!

So my husband was home for 6 weeks, which is the longest we have ever spent together married. It was fabulous. Now into this new year he has gone back offshore and I am finding myself lonelier then ever. Something I would rarely admit, and usually try to hide. But in this new year I am going to be more honest with myself and this is the new start! It's okay to feel lonely because my husband left- admitted and done! New beginning two... Simplicity.... I need to have it!

How will I accomplish this? hmmm funny you asked; pack it up and toss it out ( or in my case donate it ;)). Cleaning out all the stuff, the more simple the better, the less stuff the more simple. Get it, got it, good! So 8 trash bags of clothes, 3 bags of actual junk trash, and 2 bags of kitchenware later, simplicity follows. And while there is still a bit more to go through :/ it is much better! Three cheers to the new year and my third new start, more people time!

I want to make others feel as important to me as they really are. I don't just want to tell people they are my friends or call them my family, i want to work on building those relationships with family and friends and making them more intimate. Words are never enough, actions are better. It all boils down too less me, more them!

And lastly, I want to work on Julie, being Julie in this new year. Yes, by devoting more time to my blog obviously, but too, by grounding myself into what makes me, me. Last year ended on a rough note, where I found myself questioning me, my emotions were skewed due to another's emotions, and my attitude was affected by that of someone else's. It was if I had a lack of control of me. And that's just not right, not anyway you look at it! So finding me again has been another start to my 2012. I know God has a plan for my life and I am going to count on him more this year then last and I know it's going to be a good one for sure! A new 2012 awaits, stay posted for what's in store!
