A goodbye Surprise, after the fact.

Whether it is a message in a bottle, via mail, left on the kitchen island, or hidden with instructions to find it, receiving a love note is romantic! Words written, telling someone how you feel about them always gives me butterflies! A sweet memoir of feelings. Danny and I have these long goodbyes. We decided that every time we part for an extent of time we will leave the other a love note.

Early this morning, very early, 3A we were up and getting ready for the airport! Danny got the call that they are going offshore, so instead of leaving tomorrow, he changed things to today! So by 5A I made a lot of accomplishments; OOB, dressed, Teeth brushed, drive to airport, sad goodbyes, drive home from airport, got lost, got a ticket, cried, home, fed dogs, Danny called (he can't get enough of me, ha!), found love note, cried again, called Danny back, back into bed to try and start this day over.

So then I woke up later around 11A, which was fabulous because I haven't slept in for about 5 weeks now! I feel so refreshed. Thanks little pups for being good while I slept! ha! So again, by 5A, a lot of tears, and a lot of travel time. BUT, it is now and the tears have subsided and I am ready to start the day! So, back to the note!

Danny called and instructed me to the master bathroom to where ha had strategically left me a love note. Very Romantic, even from 1000 miles away! I was so surprised, and I felt like a horrible wife because we had only mentioned doing this once, and never brought it up again. So last night when I thought about it, I told myself nah just go to bed he won't do it either. OUCH! OMGosh, I really messed up! I am so sorry Danny. Bet your butt, I will not forget the next time, or ever live this down! ha!

Do you know what the best part is though, my husband just wants to make me happy, he knew I was beating myself up and he told me it was OK, not to worry about it. So sweet, but I still feel bad. How could I just blow this off? Have you ever done something like this? Well to make it up to him I wrote him a very long apologetic, love note e-mail, not romantic at all, I know, but he'll still surprised and love it!

You'll note I just completely overlooked the part of my day when I got a ticket! Well that is another story, one I have to also further investigate. I'll keep you posted... but for now it is all about my love note... Share a bit of classic romance with the one you love today...

Meet Charlie

What is orange, scaly, 2 inches long, and loves to swim! It's Charlie, our beloved carnival fish pet! I know you may be thinking it is absolutely crazy to blog about a fish, but just hear me out!

Charlie was a singled out prize from throwing 20 ing pong balls into fish bowls at the carnival local in Jefferson! Ha! See you think I am joking, but I am not! Ha! Our friends, you know, Rusty and Monica, actually won him! Danny and I won Rose, she didn't last 12 hours. Nope, nope, she just wasn't a fighter like our Charlie! So it's been about 7 months that Charlie has lived with us. This is his fish bowl, always in style- seashells and all!

He really is the most peculiar little fish. He sets on our kitchen counter right next to our sink, and when we are in the kitchen he swims wildly all around the water, dancing I like to say- water aerobics! Yeah he's in shape! Ha!

Since I always put the pups in the spotlight I though it was Charlie's turn! A distant cousin to Charlie Tuna, he is a wild and crazy goldfish that Danny and I are easily entertained by! Ha! It's true, it doesn't take much. Do you have any animals at your home?

Recap 3/9: short and SWEET!

Blog, Work, Olive Garden, Groceries, Home. -@ home; Elliptical, New Book/Prayer, Dog Walk, Shower, and THIS! To my surprise, Danny made us chocolate covered strawberries. Yummmm! They were delish! That guy, he is always up to something! ha! He was pretty proud of himself! And once again, he cleaned the main level of the house and organized our entertainment center, which was in much need-egh! Who would have thought, Danny, a regular Martha Stewart! ha!

OMGosh look at the cookie!

Curiouser and Curiouser... I have to begin by telling you that Alice and Wonderland was great at the iMAX last night! In fact our whole night was quite wonderful! We arrived in Harrisburg, which we had never been, so a new ticked box, and the streets were so quiet. Baltimore is always so busy and loud and this was just quaint. We started out by eating at this little pub called The Gingerbread Man. It was an Irish themed pub and we had a blast. The food was great! And the best part, you got a little Gingerbread man cookie with your meal! How cute is that?

Here is Danny and his G-man! Ha! I just get a kick out of this!

Isn't this a quaint place? As you can see it wasn't very crowded, but March is definitely the month to be at this place. St. Pattys Day, and an Irish pub.... you do the math! ha! Anyway the food was delish! I only had a grilled cheese on wheat and Danny had clams, we wanted to keep it light for the movie! iMAX and 3D can have a sickening effect sometimes. But no issues here!

As we walked down the hushed streets of Harrisburg to the Whitaker Center iMAX, which literally was a hop skip and jump from The G-Man, we enjoyed the night air and distant lights glistening across the water. Somewhat of a magical feel...

When we got to the iMAX, inside, just up the staircase was a cow parade cow. We have seen the cow parade in so many places, it is the most intriguing thing I have ever seen. I love it! We followed the cow parade through Europe and South America, so much fun, and now here in our home state! I don't know what it means I just know that there are these intricately decorated cows at various places across the world. It is pretty neat! And Harrisburg has been visited by the cow parade! Check it out!

Gods Post-it!

Wow! Once more, Wow! This is the new book I am reading! As you know when I workout I read. I have finished The Bema, which I still recommend and now I am on this this. This is a book about surviving the valleys in life and "dancing" through them, hence the title Dancing Bones. It is a very short book, easy reading that's applicable in everyday life! It's funny how God works, let me set the stage for you....

Today in church the sermon, in a nutshell, was about loving those that are hard to love, doing to others what is right even when it hurts because they've hurt you in someway. When I came home I ate lunch, talked with Danny for a while and then baked a pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing... which I baked because I am having many cravings for sweets and I am going to eat something sweet today. And no I am not pregnant. ha! So after a handful of jelly bellys while I was making the cake ( BTW 35 jelly bellys= 140 cal, no fat) I got upset with myself and forced myself to go work-out. Another side note I am so tired of working out and eating healthy and not seeing the results I want. Sick of it actually! ha! Yes yes, after this week my weigh in is at 146.0 that's 0.6 improvement from the last, and I feel like I am working so hard for such pathetic results. This weight loss stuff is too slow for my fast paced lifestyle. Here is the clincher, note how the last few sentences were all about what I am looking for and what I want to happen, well I, while working out had received a post-it from God!

Eye opener it was! I started where I last left off, here is the chapter title- Valley Fare: A Gourmet Treat. The chapter was about struggles in the valley with adapting to healthier lifestyle habits and when I finished it my post-it said: Pray longer, eat less. Scripture is the place to be for discipline. What also was on the post-it received while I was ellipticalling, (my word, it's OK, I made it up) was while I may not see number results which is what I (there it is again) want I have more energy, am sleeping better, and things are shifting because my clothes fit better! ha!

And it doesn't even stop there, I got 2 post-its this afternoon! While the message this morning emphasized people, my post-it added to the sermon , it said: Even when its rough, there is always tomorrow. Leading me to examine these questions. Am I judgemental? yes. Do I hold onto excess life luggage? yes. Does my attitude reflect that? yes. I need to really stop letting my or others circumstances get the best of me. I need to remind myself that each day is a new blessing to do something spectacular with. My prayer, encouraged by this book and my post-its, is too keep dancing through the valleys of life, Its okay to be a Valley Girl! It is so amazing how God uses the little things in life to send a post-it!
