Pre-Monday, Post Weekend

Monday, Monday! Today was one of those days you wish could be erased from your memory bank, like it just never happened, or like a dream! While everything will be completely fine, it is just one of those kind of days! God, please advise! We've all had them, right?

But the weekend was fun, when is it not! First of all Saturday night, I found my stethoscope, ahh the reunion, it was totally unexpected too! I was preparing for Kings Dominion with some friends on Sunday and pulled out an old satchel to carry and there, a bag stuffed into a bigger bag stuffed into an even bigger bag was an old bag with my stethoscope! So happy! I did some redecorating at the house as well, in preparation for our hardwood floors, hopefully this week or next! I will post before and after shots definitely! I am so excited! These are my new island seat cushions! They look soooo good! I love to get new things for the home! It's so much fun!

I heard from my husband, a few e-mails which is great! I love to get that little blip on my phone open the message and viola, Daniel! Love it! I did some shopping over the weekend, what's new! I got 4 dresses for work, Fabulous and on sale and a pair of new shoes, wedge, strappy and red! Nothing like a great pair of red shoes! Saturday Morning I took the puppy to get her nails trimmed, she is too adorable! She was awesome at the groomers!

And the other dogs have become camera shy, I am pretty sure it's the red light on the front, Beanie Runs and barks and Roxy hides. 2 run from the camera, 1 runs from the nail clippers! Ha! But little Maggie is my fur kid model! Ha!

So Sunday I went to Kings Dominion, an amusement park in Virginia, I had not been there in about 15 years! It was fun to ride and slide, and eat! All the food, yum! Ha! My friends Holly and Jordan invited me along, it was just a classic time! And did I mention the food! Ha! Childhood memories are calling!

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow :(

Ahhh I just want to scream! When you are a nurse the most important thing to have in your possession is your stethoscope! So okay one can argue that I am a nurse analyst and really don't need it BUT but but, I am going to pick up shifts here and there to maintain and grow my clinical knowledge base... and I realized today, still cleaning out, crazy I know, anyway, I realized I have no idea where it is, and I have cleaned out all the places it could be! NOOOO!

Rough, I know you may be thinking this is silly, but if you are a nurse you can relate. Your stethoscope is that one thing you have everyday, it's like a part of you, and this one I have had since I started nursing 6years, WOW 6 years did I really just write that! I can't believe it has been that long. Back to the stethoscope now, yes I am very sad. I feel like I was looking for it a few months ago and then found it and was like whew, I have it it's fine. However if that really did happen, which I am not sure if it did or not, then where is it now and why can't I find it!!!!! Ahhh, I can't believe it, so sad! Okay well the fact that I am blogging and pouting about a lost stethoscope is likely an issue. So I am done now.

BUT STILL SAD! Ha!

Family Ties

Tonight I went out with my girlfriends to dinner! We just went local to Panera, but what a great time! Panera is always good anyway, right! Ha! Someone once said A genuine friendship is a heavenly present. It blesses our hearts because God's love is in it. I love this. How true! Each of us there tonight are so different but God has placed us in each others lives and I am just so thankful! We can laugh, smile, joke, make fun, cry if we needed to and it would be accepted. Selfless, Steadfast, Faithful, Forever, that is what friendship is all about. I am so thankful for the awesome time we had tonight!

Amy, you just make me laugh I love your stories and I can't wait to doggie walk with you and Mia, I am so glad to be your friend. Ashley, you are a true friend, for many years I am so blessed and thankful for you. Jessie, I have loved getting to know you recently, You are beautiful inside and out, and you've got the bank 411!Ha! And Sarah it was great getting to know you better tonight, I hope for many more encounters! I pray God continues to mold our friendships and allows us to grow and thrive from one another! Tonight was just great!

I cannot write a post about friends however without mentioning the gal that deserves a big piece of chocolate cake for putting up with me! Ha, that's my Monica, my any weather friend, the one who gets the roughest of the rough at times and still calls me the next day or later that night! Ha! Monica, you are a true best friend and although I don't always feel worthy of your friendship, words cannot say how much you mean to me. I feel like it's always me me me but you stick with it and my spasticity! Ha! I am thankful for the blessing of our friendship, our sisterhood! Hugs Sweet!

I am just so thankful for my gals, all of them! Any who have touched my life somehow, those I remain close with and those I have drifted from.. I reflect on my friendships a lot and look back on the memories, what a fabulous blessing. Thanks God for these friends, this family no doubt!

New Bedding!

Every Season brings new bedding in our household! A trait carried down from my Amma and Momma! So as I have been keeping a look out for fall, here are a few that have caught my eye!

And with new bedding comes new sheets! These are the perfect dainty for me!

I adore Anthropology! Bedding 2 is my favorite, I'm sure! Ha

SOUTH BEACH, Amen

I am ecstatic! As you know I have been following SB the past month and I started out phase one on top! I stuck with it even though I wanted to scream, plateaued, made some changes and saw more results! I was pleased! The there was my Husband, he came home! Which I loved, don't get me wrong, but my eating habits go awry when he is here. I didn't follow the diet quite as closely as I should have, but In the 2 weeks he was home I only gained back 0.2lbs! Love it! Thanks God! If there is one thing I am thankful for with this diet is that it has helped me to cut carbs/sugar in a big way, I don't even miss them or crave them! I love bread, but being on this diet I have probably only eaten bread 5 X in the past month! No pasta, no rice, no oatmeal, no cereal... I feel great though! I have changed over to decaf everything, a miracle from God for sure, and cut back on sweets! Note cut back, I am just not going to deprive myself! I am not ready to reveal my weight just yet but it is looking good, the scale has become my friend again! And now for the evening jog.

What a Hot Mess!

This weekend has flown! I am amazed at everything I can get accomplished in 2 days! Saturday morning when the dogs work me up at 6:45 to go out I decided to stay up and start the day! Not really having an agenda for that early I decided to clean; well let me tell you what that turned into. It started as cleaning -up it continues as cleaning-out! I have no idea what happened, we are newlyweds, have only lived here for 2 years, where did we get all of this stuff?!!! There were 7 bags of clothes that I donated to charity! Really Julie, come on you do not need all of this! It started in the master walk-in progressed to our linen closet, other closets, drawers and today it will end in the kitchen! A hot mess! And me, I am so organized, I just don't know where it all came from and how it got this bad! I was just sick to my stomach thinking about people in need, our economy's status, and here I am with all of this stuff I don't need. Hundreds of dollars just tossed in a pile, nothing like a s a visual reality check from above! Ha!

And so it continues today, The Kitchen! I have done the refrigerator, now the cabinets, thankfully my pantry is well kept (I did it earlier in the year and haven't let it go)! Then hopefully I will move into the basement and stack my piles and take them to the goodwill or something! Forget a yard sale it just isn't worth it! Been there done that; and it is still here! Ha! BTW, the picture for the post is borrowed, I am happy to say that is not my clutter! Ha! I have hidden clutter, yes I am one of those, until this weekend, now I am free! Well almost, and still it will probably happen again- well not probably- definitely is the new probably for this situation!

So now, Kitchen, then basement, jewelry drawer, office, and garage! Better get back to it! Ha!
