Ready Set Go... VBS!

It is truly amazing what energy you can find when you usually feel depleted after a day at work! Last night was the grand finale of our vacation bible school at church, it was a great deal of fun! Actually our church meets in a movie theater, so we support VBS for another church in our local area as a mission! The kids always have such a good time. Kids are great like that, so carefree, they hold a special place in my heart, their smiles, their laughter! We hold this in the evening, so everyday right after work it was to VBS I go! Ha!
And it is so true that usually I get home from work and am just done, but this week, a new energy, hopefully a kick start to more doing and less couch in the evening! Ha! Unbelievable, I have never watched so much TV. It's just not me. But Thanks God for this past week! What a blessing, meeting new people, making great memories, and I got to spend time with Ashley... yeah for arts and crafts! Great job girl! BTW, Amy no more markers, silly string fumes, glue, and markers, not a good combination! Do I hear intervention? Ha!
Thanks to my neighbor Julie, she took care of the dogs while I was gone for the long days! I couldn't have done VBS without her! I am so thankful that worked out! Isn't it great how little things can offer the greatest blessings in your life! Wow, there is so much behind the scenes that God works out, somethings point blank and some I never even realize.... Thanks God

Sisters

Last Weekend I went down to the Eastern Shore to see my sister-in law! She was hosting a Fathers Day Cookout for the family! Friday Morning my Mother- in -law and I left early and spent the day together, breakfast, shopping... Then later that night we went out with friends. Mindy and I, center, have become very close since Danny and I have been married. I have never had a sister so it is fun! I am blessed to have not only a great family, but in-laws as well.

With my husband being gone most of the time offshore, I am close to them and have become so over the many years we have been together. I could not ask for more! So the weekend continued; we had fabulous weather, good times, and of course additions to the memory bank! Ha!

Oh, I can't forget, this is Chris, Mindy's boyfriend, he is a lot of fun! It was nice to have time to get to know him better and for him to get to know the family!

So Sunday I got home in the afternoon and my Amma was watching the dogs, Thanks Amma! She stayed over until Tuesday morning when I dropped her off at home on my way to work. It is very cute actually, she drives everywhere all hours of the night but cannot make it to my house which she thinks is "so far away" (really about 25 minutes door to door ;)) and the other part is, bless her heart, she doesn't think she'd find my house because they all look the same! Ha! Townes, yes, I can see her point! But she is always willing to help and I know she had a good time with the dogs and being overly domestic, as usual... but that's a whole other blog line! Ha!

Busy Works!

Okay, so yeah I know the blogs have been slim! I have been crazy busy... happy crazy busy, the good things in life, better than bad busy but you know what I am trying to say! Ha! It's been work, weekend travels, parties, out with friends, VBS at church this week, and just trying to stop my head from spinning! But I have not forgotten this, my little blog baby! Ha! I'll be posting something worthwhile soon, all I need is more hours in the day! LOL, stay posted...

The Entrance Way to My Backyard Oasis...

This is the view from my back sliders onto my deck... leading down into my backyard. I love being outside this time of year.... the cool nights, the light breeze, the hot sun during the day.... all of it= wonder! My flower garden is in full bloom, my flower boxes over the edge of my deck are brilliantly full of life... and my single backyard tree is still alive! Which for me is good (and My parents deserve some credit, they have been coaching my black thumb into a green one!) Ha! Today is the first day of summer and we are definitely feeling it here on the East Coast. Hot Hot Hot!
What is also fun are the sounds of summer, kids playing outside, lawn mowers everyday, music, evening chats with the neighbors, the ice cream truck... I really enjoy it all. And the smells, can anyone say cook-out! Ha! Although don't be fooled, Fall is my ultimate favorite time of year! But there is something about summer nights that always gets me! I am so happy we were led to where we live, It is perfect, quiet, quaint, friendly... just right!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Fathers Day, Dad! Today I had a great cookout after church for Fathers Day! Well cook-out may be exaggerating a bit! Ha! We actually had papa johns! We don't have a grill at our house so we have to implement what resources we have, and well my cooking, hmmm, not an option! Ha! We don't want to make Dad sick on his day now do we? Ha! I had my parents and Amma, and aunt and her family! It was quite the crowd for our place. Perfect for 2 or 4 but not, 9 plus the pups! Ha! But it was the bees knees! Ha!

It is funny how Dads celebrate differently. Some say they want the day to themselves, not to be bothered and that is perfect for them, others want to just spend time with family. Thats my Dad! He came over pre-cook-out (pizza-out) and mowed the lawn and planted some flowers and just spent quality time with me and my Moma! It was so nice. He is not the type to just say leave me alone at all! And the weather was gorgeous outside on the deck, hot but there is always a breeze.... and the best part, no stink in the air! Ha! You'll appreciate this comment if you know where we live ;)

So anyway thanks Dad for all you do! I am truly a blessed gal! You are a very special part of my life, always. Hope you had a fabulous Fathers Day 2010!

Family Tree

Jeanette, Me, Debbie, & Stacy
Well we celebrated my cousins graduation tonight! So much fun! Good food, good company, great dancing! It is so great to get together with family you haven't seen in a while, catch up, reminisce, laugh.... ahhh it is just great! These are my cousins, we don't see each other often but when we do it is always a fabulous time. Tonight we danced the night away! And the music rocked, the DJ was awesome! If I could dance like this every night I'd be stick thin! Ha! And what a great way to lose; something fun not dreadful... like eating yogurt or something! Ha! And when you don't get to see family that often a photo-op is essential!

Stacy & Me

Amma & Me... who of course, I actually see all the time. We are very close... she is a riot! Ask anyone, even jeeves! Ha!

But anyway, what a fabulous time, Congrats again Brandon! Family, no matter who they are or how you feel about them, they are a part of you and there is no room for choice! Ha! But I feel blessed, mine are pretty Fab!

BeepBeepBeep This Just In...

Boston Terrier Maggie B. is learning commands! AMAZING, I never thought I'd see the day! She knows crate very well and has learned sit! You have no idea how exciting this is, it is confirmed I do have control in our home, not the puppy! And yes yes yes she is still super cute! And umm the potty training, no accidents when I am home with her! Yay, a miracle! All I have to say is puppies are hard work, and Boston puppies are so stubborn which makes it even harder! And this deserved a new toy, which was destroyed in 1 hour! Who said kongs were tough! Ha!

Next Chapter... Will Maggie ever behave outside of the crate when we leave! Stay tuned!
