Congratualtions, your having a Mammogram?

This week has been such a craze of stress, physically, emotionally, spiritually. Monday at the doctors for my annual, I was told there was a lump and I needed a mammogram and sonogram. First of all isn't the annual bad enough then to have to be told this! Come on gals you know what I am talking about! ha! I was immediately scared to death. I thought my grandmother died from breast cancer, I have been exposed to so much chemo and radiation in nursing, Oh My I know it is cancer, I just knew and the tears pummeled down my cheeks.

Funny how one minute I am happy go lucky fine and then I hit the wall, hard! Wow, why do I let my emotions get the best of me. I called my Momma, no answer, my father, no answer, so then I called my Mother-In -Law to go with me. I thought I could just walk in and get it done, nope try again! I had to make and appointment! Next Thursday they said. Me: That's the earliest? Them: Yes, you can try to call to see if there are any cancellations in a few days. Me: OK Thanks, I left and cried more. What is happening, it was crazy. Why not right now, I am so young! So my Mother-in-law and I want to lunch at this cute place in Westminster and it was a nice distraction. But still in my head, in my 20's I should be having babies not mammograms! Ha! Really, is this happening? And there are a million things that are benign but I know I must have the things that isn't. I think since I have become a nurse I am much more hypochondriac-ish and less realistic! I hate that! Ha!

I was able to get a hold of my parents and they were concerned but they are very strong spiritually and said were going to pray and give it to God and your going to be fine. That helped too, but I was still scared. And the moments that it was the worst were the times I was alone. The long drives home, to and from work, and in the quiet of my home. Although I prayed, it never felt like enough, I still couldn't let it go and it was just so scary to me. I thought you need to have faith, but then I though of those very faithful people in my life who I have seen overcome or not from cancer, Bad things happen to good people ya know! This is the crazy stuff I told myself. My mind was just everywhere! My parents were great they called and made sure I was okay in the downtime, they know me so well- that I would be driving myself crazy! Which is funny because usually I don't "over the top" worry about much!

I am so thankful to be able to say that it was a false alarm, I am fine, completely normal and healthy where this is concerned. Sigh! Thanks, God! I was able to move my appointment up 1 week earlier and they gave me the results right after the tests. There was also this mammogram anxiety because everyone says it hurts, it rough... well it' not something I enjoyed but it wasn't that bad! Thanks to everyone who prayed, although not many people knew, and to my family and friends who were there for me in this unnerving experience. Monica, the pedicure was much needed and helpful! Ha!
I know not everyone is blessed with a good outcome and my life has been touched by some wonderful women who did not, who hold a very special place in my heart.
I saw this at a women of faith conference years ago, it is definitely inspiring...

How does Mr Clean Do It?

Isn't it funny when your mind is on something all that you can accomplish? I got home from work today, went to the grocery store, did some gardening, if you call pruning my dead plants gardening, and then cleaned and scrubbed out my entire car on the inside! I feel like the consummate worker! Ha! But it is just amazing how you just turn your mind off when you have something to focus on! Well and the car was a hot mess, I do not know how leather seats could be so gross- yuck! Yes I am ashamed to admit it, the magic eraser was black and I broke 2 in half trying to scrub! Pathetic right! Oh my it needed it- egh!

And those magic erasers are pretty great! I am very clean, hard to admit after telling you about the leather seats, I know, Ha! But I am clean and like a black dress is a staple in the wardrobe, so is it a magic eraser in the cleaning supplies! Just try it, you will love it! I don't know what it is about it but it's amazing! So now the dogs are asleep, I am going to shower, and then off to bed! Work tomorrow, you know how that is working gals, but at least I'll have an hour commute in a crisp clean ride! Ha!

Pre-Monday, Post Weekend

Monday, Monday! Today was one of those days you wish could be erased from your memory bank, like it just never happened, or like a dream! While everything will be completely fine, it is just one of those kind of days! God, please advise! We've all had them, right?

But the weekend was fun, when is it not! First of all Saturday night, I found my stethoscope, ahh the reunion, it was totally unexpected too! I was preparing for Kings Dominion with some friends on Sunday and pulled out an old satchel to carry and there, a bag stuffed into a bigger bag stuffed into an even bigger bag was an old bag with my stethoscope! So happy! I did some redecorating at the house as well, in preparation for our hardwood floors, hopefully this week or next! I will post before and after shots definitely! I am so excited! These are my new island seat cushions! They look soooo good! I love to get new things for the home! It's so much fun!

I heard from my husband, a few e-mails which is great! I love to get that little blip on my phone open the message and viola, Daniel! Love it! I did some shopping over the weekend, what's new! I got 4 dresses for work, Fabulous and on sale and a pair of new shoes, wedge, strappy and red! Nothing like a great pair of red shoes! Saturday Morning I took the puppy to get her nails trimmed, she is too adorable! She was awesome at the groomers!

And the other dogs have become camera shy, I am pretty sure it's the red light on the front, Beanie Runs and barks and Roxy hides. 2 run from the camera, 1 runs from the nail clippers! Ha! But little Maggie is my fur kid model! Ha!

So Sunday I went to Kings Dominion, an amusement park in Virginia, I had not been there in about 15 years! It was fun to ride and slide, and eat! All the food, yum! Ha! My friends Holly and Jordan invited me along, it was just a classic time! And did I mention the food! Ha! Childhood memories are calling!

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow :(

Ahhh I just want to scream! When you are a nurse the most important thing to have in your possession is your stethoscope! So okay one can argue that I am a nurse analyst and really don't need it BUT but but, I am going to pick up shifts here and there to maintain and grow my clinical knowledge base... and I realized today, still cleaning out, crazy I know, anyway, I realized I have no idea where it is, and I have cleaned out all the places it could be! NOOOO!

Rough, I know you may be thinking this is silly, but if you are a nurse you can relate. Your stethoscope is that one thing you have everyday, it's like a part of you, and this one I have had since I started nursing 6years, WOW 6 years did I really just write that! I can't believe it has been that long. Back to the stethoscope now, yes I am very sad. I feel like I was looking for it a few months ago and then found it and was like whew, I have it it's fine. However if that really did happen, which I am not sure if it did or not, then where is it now and why can't I find it!!!!! Ahhh, I can't believe it, so sad! Okay well the fact that I am blogging and pouting about a lost stethoscope is likely an issue. So I am done now.

BUT STILL SAD! Ha!

Family Ties

Tonight I went out with my girlfriends to dinner! We just went local to Panera, but what a great time! Panera is always good anyway, right! Ha! Someone once said A genuine friendship is a heavenly present. It blesses our hearts because God's love is in it. I love this. How true! Each of us there tonight are so different but God has placed us in each others lives and I am just so thankful! We can laugh, smile, joke, make fun, cry if we needed to and it would be accepted. Selfless, Steadfast, Faithful, Forever, that is what friendship is all about. I am so thankful for the awesome time we had tonight!

Amy, you just make me laugh I love your stories and I can't wait to doggie walk with you and Mia, I am so glad to be your friend. Ashley, you are a true friend, for many years I am so blessed and thankful for you. Jessie, I have loved getting to know you recently, You are beautiful inside and out, and you've got the bank 411!Ha! And Sarah it was great getting to know you better tonight, I hope for many more encounters! I pray God continues to mold our friendships and allows us to grow and thrive from one another! Tonight was just great!

I cannot write a post about friends however without mentioning the gal that deserves a big piece of chocolate cake for putting up with me! Ha, that's my Monica, my any weather friend, the one who gets the roughest of the rough at times and still calls me the next day or later that night! Ha! Monica, you are a true best friend and although I don't always feel worthy of your friendship, words cannot say how much you mean to me. I feel like it's always me me me but you stick with it and my spasticity! Ha! I am thankful for the blessing of our friendship, our sisterhood! Hugs Sweet!

I am just so thankful for my gals, all of them! Any who have touched my life somehow, those I remain close with and those I have drifted from.. I reflect on my friendships a lot and look back on the memories, what a fabulous blessing. Thanks God for these friends, this family no doubt!

New Bedding!

Every Season brings new bedding in our household! A trait carried down from my Amma and Momma! So as I have been keeping a look out for fall, here are a few that have caught my eye!

And with new bedding comes new sheets! These are the perfect dainty for me!

I adore Anthropology! Bedding 2 is my favorite, I'm sure! Ha
