New in the New Year: 2011

Hmmm, whats new this week?  A more quiet week, but still room for something new! Ha! Boxing!  I have added boxing to my workout routine, Love it!  I have been using the Wii active boxing and also just doing general boxing moves in our basement( which is out workout room currently, until the husband returns home, Ha).  I do about 15-20 minutes every other day, but it is quite the workout.  It's fun, constant cardio, and I am seeing results which is all that matters!  Well I have changed many things since I haven't been able to run that have led to my results, so here I go boxing and strength, cardio, & abs to cut this gut! Ha! Maybe you'll give it a try, warning though, its addicting...

Snow Days

Okay, so I am feeling totally spoiled by getting to work from home due to snow/ice 3 weeks in a row on my non-work from home day!  I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work from home.  I can drive in the snow if I need too, but I hate it! The mess, the craziness, the sliding, yuck!

There are so many benefits from working at home.  Let's see, first I can multitask and get other things done like laundry. Next, it is a great way to get away from your desk.  When I am home I can get up and step outside easily, or just do something other than work for a few minutes.  At the office you can make a loop but then you just end up back at your desk.  Last, just not having to make the hour drive to and from work, brutal! There is so much more, it is so refreshing!  Love it!  Thankful for it!

Finances, Budget, & Headaches

Finances are such a headache.  While we have never had an issue with our finances in the past, it seems as though one of us has gotten the bright idea to budget and really crack down.  We can truly pay our bills ans smile while we do it because we have minimal debt, well no credit card debt that is.  Of course we have our mortgage, and 1 car payment, and I do have a school loan.  The only other debt we have is our hardwood floors.  But making the payments is just something we do and have plenty of money left to "blow" even after tithing.  So recently, I started taking a class on Finances by Dave Ramsey.  And since then it seems there is no money. What is going on?  Okay, so now I guess I am being tested because I have never been so stressed about finances until now.  I am on a mission to now only have a mortgage payment as debt.  It's funny that being so carefree has me know questioning how much is that and send a little extra here, always tithing and saving first.

I hate it actually, and I hope it gets better because I am just so ahhhh over every little thing, it's insane.  And I was never this way, just my husband.  It's funny how you look at things differently.  And it's funny because we don't even have the hard savings piece of this class to do, we are well prepared with the emergency fund discussed in class.

I have my cash set aside and then it's like this happens and this, and while I never batted an eye before I don't want to use my credit card at all.   And I have done good with my cash flow I have set aside but there seems like so many things have come at one time and I am stressed.  I would much rather go back to my routine and have no stress, but I keep feeling like I should stick with it.  I guess there is a lesson to be learned and I am trying....

New in the New Year:2011

WOW! Wednesday is here again, so fast! Ha! New since the last  NITNY post is a recipe I invented on my own.  Ha!  It may be out there but I thought of it on my own, so let me have my glory!  Yeah, as if I am ever after my own glory, Ha! So I mixed carrots and apples and celery in our slow cooker with a little brown sugar and cinnamon glaze.  While it was tasty, the apples turned to mush, so it's sort of like carrots in apple sauce.  But it is good.  I  would post a picture but it definitely tastes better then it looks!  It's one I'll keep on the books!  What was your new this week?

Oh and a side note:  Happy happy Birthday to my Amy who is 30 today!  This is the year girl, thankfully your first! Ha!  Love ya and hope you have a fabulous birthday, you deserve every minute of it!

Back to work Monday!

Yes, I have a bad case of the Monday's but it won't be too bad of a week, very busy calendar, but at least that makes it go quick! Ha!  I am so thankful I have a job and  am glad to be a part of such a great team!  Tomorrow is my early day so I will be up and get it done and be back home before I know it!  I can take it! Ha!  It's funny though I always have this Sunday night anticipation of what Monday will bring, I hate that. Do you ever get this?  But I guess it's what you make of it, so here is to Monday, smile and say cheeeese!

Run. Hault

Yes, it's official, sort of, I have a running injury :(  I am pretty sure its a stress fracture.  I am going to go to the orthopedic this week and get a true diagnosis.  I thought doing some low-impact would help and it has, until I thought I could dance this afternoon on Wii and no I totally thought wrong!  Those slight movements aggravated it badly!   So no running currently, and I hate it because I just want to get out there and go.  But low impact for now.... at least we have an elliptical! Ha!  Now only if I could bike or swim.... hmmmm, swimming may be an option!  Praying this is a quick fix heal!

"Houston, we have a problem"- egh!

Oh my, this is a problem for me :(  I wear my stilettos all the time and I love them!    So I am really going to have to make some decisions, flats while running, or no running?  And I am sadly going to have to side with the flats for now (at least most days).  I have been praying and I am so motivated by running that I am not ready to give it up, so as I train for distance the heels will be placed to the side I guess.  Maybe, this pain in my lower leg will also subside! HA!  After much research and talking with some pros, I may very well have a stress fracture at my medial tibia.  Yuck.  I am slowing down for now and doing some cross training to strengthen my calf and ankle and hopefully prevent this from happening again. So yeah, the stilettos probably aren't helping.  But I won't give up on them, they are too much fun and I will wear them again! Ha!
