Homeward Bound to a World of Surprise!

Tonight is the night, Danny comes home! The gift is wrapped, the cards in place, the dogs very excited, and me ecstatic! ! Its all here waiting for his arrival! Actually I will be going to the airport to pick him up tonight, so when we get home it will be all here waiting! Ha! To be honest here, I do pretty good when Danny is away. I am very independent, keep everything in order fairly well, and only have a few days that are totally rough while Danny is offshore. I miss him all the time, but when we do finally come together, let me tell you what that is like!

For the past 10 years we have been long distance. This year was our first year married, in April remember! Ha! The most amazing feeling I have is the anticipation of his arrival, hence TODAY! All smiles! Whether he is driving home or flying the feeling is always the same. I like everything in place when he comes, the house and yard are super, the dogs are clean, everything just right so he can have a warm welcome and just relax. Of course let me clarify he expects none of this, he wouldn't care if the laundry is piled, the dogs are mudstruck, the grass is high, the kitchen is a mess from breakfast... he is just happy to be home. It's funny how, everything usually is clean and in place, I am very organized at home even when he is gone, but when he is coming there is something I see that needs a little extra to be just right! Ha!

The best part is that hour before his arrival. Waiting at the airport for the plane to land is always so much fun! I am like a little kid excited about christmas morning! My heart throbs, I can't relax, I am just gleaming with joy! And then I we see each other, he, coming down the terminal, I, waiting at the end... that eye contact is worth a million words! Then to see his smile from ear to ear, eyes bright! Thats worth another million! It is these moments that I am thankful for each day! God blesses me and uses these memories to get me through all the days of Danny's absence! And I still cannot believe that this is my life, my "little girl" fairytale!

So this time, his birthday has just passed! May 14, and he turned 30! Where does the time go? Ha! So I planned this great surprise party for last night, friends family, food, bowling... all of it... and then I found out he wasn't going to be home until Wed, and now he's coming home tonight... this is my life. makes rough for any planning! Ha! But I would still do it all over, no doubt! So I canceled everything last minute! So now waiting at home is his "it'll have to do" mini- surprise party- a gift, 2 cupcakes, 3 dogs with party hats, cards, and me! It'll be perfect he'll love it! 30 is a milestone, it cannot go unnoticed! Ha!

Wii, My New Personal Trainer

Once again, here I am writing about what my newest "try to lose 15 lbs fad is" This is it! Wii Active! I was talking to a friend from church who was describing Wii Fit and some success she had with it, however she said a friend of hers had Wii Active and it kept you constantly going for the whole 30 minutes! So I though about this and though about it and after the picnic I went to buy it at Target! Ha! It's true you do break a sweat and move for the whole 30 minutes! My whole body can feel it just after 2 workouts! And doing all of those lunges and squats, ahhh killer! And I already dread the inline, Lets say I am pathetic 2/1o tricks, those squats and jumps are rough! So towards the end of the workout when I am screaming out loud and soaked with sweat, I just keep saying this food and this weight does not have control... I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.... as my thighs are burning and oh that last run makes me crazy. But I can overcome this, and that is my prayer!

So some of you may be thinking, this is Wii, not the Biggest Loser Challenge and may be laughing at this post... but I will tell you, for those who are athletically challenged and out of shape, um huh that's right, ME, this is a great work out and fun! So between the elliptical and this I am praying for results. It definitely has to be a lifestyle change not just a fad here and there! And with my neck just being in a funk this is probably the last thing I should be doing, but so far it feels okay, so until my body tells me otherwise I'll keep going.. not to the chiropractor just to my personal trainer, Wii! Ha!

Thanks Amanda for the great idea!
Praying for Results!

Birthday. Happy. Danny.

Happy Birthday Danny! I hope you are having a wonderful 30th! Right now you are off shore and do not get to celebrate, but you'll be home soon enough! Ha! So, I told you about your surprise party, that you are going to miss : ( , so sad! I guess I will cancel all of the guests, and just when I sent the invitations you tell me you can't make it home! Lovely, The offshore life is fabulous! Ha! A nightmare at times because I like things scheduled, you gotta love that perfectionist in your wife! Of course you do! Ha! No, seriously, I truly support you in what makes you happy, and I know thats diving! I am glad you do what you love! I miss you of course, but absence makes the heart grow fonder... so true for us! Wouldn't you say? All these years, all of the birthdays we have shared, we have so much to be thankful for. Amazing!

But I do have a surprise for you, a fabulous 30th birthday gift! Thats right, a hint... hmmm... something from the past, something you enjoy, something you would never buy for yourself! Well thats 3, and I am sure you still won't guess it! Ha! Well no more hints... you'll find our when you get home! Anyway, I love you and wish you all the best this birthday! Although you'll only be 30 once in a lifetime, It is my prayer we will have many many more brithdays to celebrate together, well... together although we are apart, but one day we will be together really.. you know what I mean... it's complicated, but it's us, and I love it! Ha!

The Daily Grind- Thursday XO

Today, today, today. Today was my first day back to the office since Monday! I hurt my neck somehow and have been having trouble moving it. Thankfully, it is much better, but still after 2 visits to the chiropractor, there is still a mobility issue and pain! And I am done with it! This was the dress I wore today, I love the color and the print is fun too! Target sale rack, can't beat it! Ha! It has been so much fun, buying new clothes and dressing up for work! I was so sick of scrubs! Although if I am being honest, there has been a day or too where I would love to throw the scrubs on and go!

This weekend, the yard sale.... ahhh! Am I ready! I actually double booked and planned for this and RSVP'd to a bridal shower. I am not going to be able to go unfortunately, but I sent my gift with Mom! I need to look at my calendar more closely, that is why I keep one! Ha! But it's a community yard sale, so hopefully it will be good and the weather will be nice! I have been getting things all ready, labeling, and organizing! It should be a fun time! Fun as far as yard sales are concerned! Ha! It's what you make of it, and my friend Mac will be there with me so it is sure to be fabulous! Ha, get it Mac Fabulous! Ha!

Sunday is our church picnic, I am looking forward to that. All my friends will be there. It'll be fun, it always its! I will be going solo, Danny is off shore still, he isn't coming home until later in the month! But hey, I am an only child and I have no problems doing things by myself! It's a blessing in disguise! Ha! It's funny, my grandmother was an only child and married a Navy Seal, a diver, and here I am an only child and married a Marine, not a Seal, but also a diver! I suppose it is true, great minds think alike! And being alike I don't mind that at all, we did have quite a bit in common! I pray not to have 5 kids in common , but it is not up to me! Ha! Dear God, 5 may be too much! But you know best! Ha!

Well gotta go for Survivor, yes it's pathetic how reality TV has sucked me in! But it's life! Ha!

Poison Control, Party Gifts, & Mud, a Day of Adventure!

A day of adventure caught you attention I'm sure! Ha! Not poison control, party gifts, or mud! Ha! Well yes this is how my day began! As I was working from home Maggie decided to sneak off with my sharpie and destroy it! And destroy it she did! All over my bed linens! She came to me foaming bright yellow at the mouth and went to lick and there was her tongue bright yellow, tongue, teeth, gums, and lips! and let me not forget her 2 front paws! So a call to the vet, referred me to poison control! And they instructed me to give her a "tasty treat" something that would get the marker taste out of her mouth. She eats a pan and gets canned dog food, which I never feed the dogs, so it is like a treat! But thankfully she will be fine they said, just colorful! Ha! As if it could get any worse! Oh but it can! HA! Sorry for the pics, they are from my phone and just, well pathetic!

This is a gift for a bridal shower I am sending for this weekend. During a conference call for work, Maggie broke through the baby gate and decided to take a peek! Mistakenly she thought the gift was hers! Here is the gift scattered all across my home! Again, thankfully she didn't open the paring knives!

Oh, but wait there is more! I put her and the other girls outside while I cleaned up this mess and took photos of course, ha, and she dug all in the mud! Just look at her feet! A hot mess! All over her snout too, the picture just doesn't do it justice! Welcome to my adventure! And I am over it! See, it's all here poison control, party gifts, and mud!
See, it's all here poison control, party gifts, and mud! It's a puppy phase right?

Rosy Cheeks and Laughter, What a Combination!

A little dab will do ya! Meet Amy, my longest known friend of all time, you know the one you'll never be able to get rid of! Ha. jk girl! Amy and I have known each other since I was born, a very close family friend! There is not too much we haven't done together or trouble we've been in! Yesterday Amy hosted a Mary Kay thing for a friend of hers, Melissa! We had such a good time trying this and that! We ate, we laughed, we "facialed" all a marvelous time! Lisa, we missed you girl : (

So here we are all made up and no where to go! Oh well, I propose we become the next housewives... Housewives of PA, Amy, Julie, Monica, Melissa, and Amy's sister Lisa by default! She doesn't live in PA but the show wouldn't make it without her! Ha! I can see it now...and, well, it makes me laugh! Ha!

The weekend was fast, too fast! A lot of shopping, Saturday events, then church and Mother's Day today... whew just too quick! And what is going on with the weather! Hot one day, cold the next, rainy, then windy, then these hurricane like winds came out of no where. Trees and wires are down all over the place! My deck furniture blew all the way across the deck and all my plants are on their sides.... and at one point I really thought my house was coming down, thankfully I am wedged between 2 other houses! Ha!

Well time to prep for tomorrow, the beginning of another work week! Happy Mother's Day to all of Moms, especially my Moma! I love you and am so blessed to have you!
