Ticking the Box

The weekend is here! Love it! Well I am on call for applications at work but it's not that bad... hopefully it continues! Ha! So it's turned out to be a good week! I cut my to do list at work in half from being out while Danny was home! Got my hair cut, I m loving it! Initiated the search for the perfect hardwood flooring, some fabulous shopping buys, found a new dance studio by my house, dinner with my in-laws and then there is all day today- Cleaning, Monica, On Call, and something I just have to see with my own eyes to believe, tonight at the local fair the combine derby?! Yes while I am not close to being a farm girl, I am so going! Ha! The thought just intrigues me! It's funny because while Danny was home we were talking about the demolition derby, yes I have been and had a blast tailgating, and he said he'd like to go to a combine derby! A what?! And he told me and then this came up last night and I can't wait to tell him I went! He'll be shocked, me, his wife at the local farm all! Ha!
I have never in my life imagined! We tonight it will be totally clear to me! Ha! It is jeering to do something you haven't ever done before, I love the anticipation, the concept, on anything new! That's what life is about! Danny introduced me to Frisbee golf while he was home! Completely awesome! Ha! While these are just 2 little boxes to tick, gosh there is just so much to do and see and LIVE, and me I hope to do as much as I can, and the best part is, I WILL here to eternity!

Picture Perfect

I am so going to try this with my Roxy girl! Tonight as I was riding around the neighborhood on my bike, I thought oh I should put one of the dogs in the basket, of course I only have 2 options! Maggie is too spastic, a lovely sweet spastic though! Ha! Still a puppy! But anyway, Beanie and Roxy would probably love it! I definitely have to try it!
I just love this picture, I am always usually in a dress or cute outfit when I ride, it's casual it's chic, thats what a cruiser is for! The best part about riding casually through my neighborhood is meeting new people, waving, stopping for a quick chat, its nice! Some of the best memories I have are when Danny is home and we take evening walks with thedogs, our family for now. There is something very special about that time, when I take the dogs out or ride my bike, or jog by myself it's different, I don't mind it at all, it's just not the same! So now the challenge, trying to reciprocate this this picture; me, my granny bike, and one of my pups! I am so up for it! Ha!

My Life as A Busybody!

<span class=
I just love this! For my poor gossiping soul, it's networking! sighs! We are all guilty, just admit it! Ha! It's funny, what different people talk about! My BF Monica and I gossip all the time! We talk about celebrities and reality TV housewives, oops, I mean stars as if we are their best friends and mixed in with all the drama they are dealing with! What a warped reality we are living, right? When we talk it's always did you hear... guess what I heard about... did you watch whatever show and can you believe he said she said.... but it isn't about people we know usually, sometimes it is, I won't lie! Really though, we don't even know the people we go on and on about. It's amazing, I guess its because we live in a quiet town and not much happens, but there is a song that says everyone dies famous in a small town, so that theory may be trash!
Sometimes I think I was born with the caddy gene, you know the one I am talking about! The one that just sneaks into your mind and you have no idea where it came from! The one that just spurts out of your mouth in front of everyone. I cannot be thankful for that, I'm sure it is not a blessing from God! What is it about the private lives of others that is so interesting to me? It's crazy what I find interesting! Or maybe thats just me somedays, crazy! Ha!

Monday Menagerie

Well it is back to the norm here in our house. Danny has left :(, I am back to work, and the dogs, well they are the dogs, cute as ever of course! Ha! It has been a long day so this is going to be short, Up since 245A, I am super tired!

I am working on my CEs for my CCRN recert! Always fun 1 little CE for all my time! Ha! But hey it's worth it, and I am not waiting until the last minute, no way! All my certs are due for renewal, CPR, ACLS, CCRN....Crazy! Always at the same time, but I'll get it done!

So now I need to start to price around for our hardwood floors! I cannot wait, they will make all the difference in our home! Danny will be shocked when he comes home again! We have decided on foyer, stairs to main level, Family room, Kitchen, and a small foyer to the upstairs rooms, really not a foyer, 2 steps and a landing! We are going to keep our sunroom as is for now. I am so excited though, it's really going to be a change!

Yes, for those of you who don't know me that well, there is always a project when Danny leaves... painting, new furniture, new decor, just always a change! I have to keep him on his feet, right! He has grown to expect it, and loves it! Except when I painted the master bath a deep plum, yeah he wasn't too crazy about that! Ha!

Julie, RN?

A few facts: It's Sunday, Its Danny's last day, it's HOT! A few more: Tomorrow= work, very long day for the girls; airport to work to home >12hrs= stress! Thats a long time for Maggie to be in her crate, and a long time for Roxy and Beanie too, although they aren't crated! Thankfully, I can ask my neighbor to help me out with the dogs! Ahh thankfully!

A trend: When my husband comes home, I question every aspect of my career choices, I ponder, I pray, I seek answers, and I feel like I don't know what I want to be when I grow up? But I am grown-up? What am I doing? Why do I feel this way?

The History: Working in the MICU I constantly felt pulled between family and work. I hardly had my weekends, every weekend, which is what I wanted, never had my holidays, all important holidays to me, and missed them with my husband because that was when he was home. But other then that my schedule was so flexible and I had days off to just do everything or nothing! In the MICU, I did a little of everything, preceptor, charge, committees... I was overwhelmed and cut back to part time. Still unsettled, I prayed and sought out something new, something different. A door opened and here I am, nurse informaticist. Thanks, God!

Here I am, 4 8hr days and fridays at home, not so bad, actually its perfect, holidays and weekends off, just the change I was seeking. But, there is always a but, now I feel the pressure of the things I have worked hard for going to the wayside. It's like I can't let go of the bedside, for the first time I miss it. I hold a CCRN certificate that I worked hard for and am very proud of. If I let this go and don't recert then I know I will be upset with myself, but how do I do that and what I am doing now.

I do not have the energy to work 7 days a week, nor do I want to. And my commute is 1+hrs away from home to work, that time adds up during the week! I am embarrassed to admit that my weight has crept up on me, my house is clean but nothing like before... yes I do apologize, this is like a woe is me blog. Don't get me wrong I am thankful to have a job, the economy is rough and I am not trying to minimize that fact that some don't even have a job.

I guess I am just asking, How do you know it's right? How do you know when you have made a change that it was the right one. How can I weigh what is most important to me in a career choice? Did God help me to make this choice to show me the grass isn't always greener? Am I happy, and it is just the trend of Danny being home? All these questions and no answers, ahhhh it just makes me crazy and it goes on and on in my head. Why can't I be satisfied, why is this change so hard, I am not even sure if I feel like a nurse anymore.... Of course I am not going to do anything rash, I do like what I am doing, I am just really grieving the loss of what I hold nursing to be.
