Today, Terrible or Teriffic? Guess it Depends on Who you Ask!

I wish that tonight this was the face that was looking at me, ears perked and attentive! But no there is no ear perking tonight. No toys lying in the vicinity of her space. Maggie is recuperating from her spay this afternoon, and she is just solemn, it's pathetic. Not a fun day for her : ( Nope not today, hopefully tomorrow will be better. Sleep well little Magnolia....
Danny was able to take her in while I was at work and it really works out because he is home to help with the healing process. She has her little e-collar which is just ridiculous and she is just not in the mood for playing.

Danny and I left her rest and grabbed dinner with some friends, Jay and Misty, tonight! What a great time! Our friends just bought their first home and wow they did an awesome job decorating it, absolutely beautiful. It's a older home, and they had to redo almost every room from the guts up! It is incredible what they have done in a short time! They have great taste! So we enjoyed a light dinner with them and their girls, also very beautiful! I should've gotten pics, but am only thinking of that now. Next time! Their girls are so sweet and playful, a lot of love within their home. Their smiles and laughter are intoxicating! Needless to say we had a fabulous time, we definitely don't see them enough! And now I am tying up lose ends and getting ready for bed, another work day tomorrow! And bonus, I am driving Monica, so it'll be a fun ride in to work! And Maggie will be with danny all day so I don't have to worry about her! And... well that's enough ands for one night, one blog entry! Ha!

Multiple Personality: Today Perfectionist

perfectionist

Is there that one thing about you that drives you absolutely crazy? For me it's that I am a perfectionist! When I make a mistake, which is often, well not that often ; /, I really beat myself up about it. It is really getting old. I have to realize I am not perfect!!!!!!!!!!! Nor will I ever be!!!! I am giving myself such a hard time because I cannot visualize these screens at work unless I see the completed product to know where and what my mistakes are. And really what is the big deal, i just go back and fix it and no harm is done and it's in a TEST environment, so I don't know what I get all worked up about- but I do! And then I dwell on it and then i just get grumpy and feel like I am not what I should be, like a failure. And it's all me because I know this isn't true. Why does my head mutate reality and make me feel so insecure? What is the deal here? Hohum...

And tomorrow the dreaded dentist! AHHHHHHHHH! I really cannot catch a break.Ha! And my sweet Maggie is getting spayed tomorrow, poor thing. Which I a nervous for her. It's so funny how one day you are on top of it all, at least you think you are, and then the next you feel this slump... right now. I guess all I can do is pray for the present and a better tomorrow. But praying for a better tomorrow seems odd because today was a good day really. It's just the perfectionist thing I am trying to grasp a hold of... so be it, I guess. And then the guilt builds up because Husband is home and I feel like crappy because all I can think about is my so called failures. But right now I am putting an end to this feeling, a hot shower, a prayer, a cup of tea, and a relaxing evening with my husband ... who is home NOW! And that does make me smile so things are looking up!

Weekend Recap and then some....

This is me. Of course you know that! Ha. I am happy. I have had a fabulous weekend! Husband, friends, shoes... ahhh it just can't get any better! Ha! So lets start with Friday, we went for the train ride in Strausburg. While I was excited for lunch on the train as I wrote in a prior post the museum, a train museum, enough said! Surprisingly I had a great time at the museum more so then the train ride itself. Hmmm go figure, I guess thats why it's important to try new things!

This is me... Ha! Living it up at the train museum! Who would have thought! And yes, we even bought a photograph of the train, that sadly for Danny, will not be hanging in our kitchen. Sorry baby! Ha!

This was pretty neat, all legos! I have never seen anything like it in my life. And it was rigged so when you hit these buttons, as my husband demonstrates, ha, the train moves! Very cool!

Danny and Julie, train enthusiasts!? Yeah that's not working for me either. Although fun, I wouldn't call it a hobby! But I did learn a lot and the food was good on the train ride, even carrot cake for dessert, my fav!

Friday night we went our with Danny's parents dinner and a movie. We saw Hot Tub Time Machine, hilarious no doubt, but the language very strong! Still a good fun time! So thats Friday, Lets move on.... Saturday was great too!

Danny built us a small patio area at the bottom of our deck, he did a great job! And what really makes it nice it the dogs won't be able to play in the nice mud pit that resided there pre-patio! Ha! Poor Girls! When our backyard is more put-together I will post some pictures but no flowers are in bloom and it is just too plain- you'll miss the full effect! While he worked doing this I want to the spa, got my hair cut, and did a little shopping! I have bought a few new pairs of shoes this week and seme new clothes. Hey a gals gotta do what a gals gotta do! Ha! Check these out...

Cute huh? I love shoes, past, present, and yes the future will bring the same! And these aren't the only two pairs I bought! When I came in the door, Danny greeted me with more shoes and this face... egh

Ha! JK. Danny wouldn't make this face at me! This was taken on the train! Some people are camera shy, Danny, camera silly! It is a little scary though huh? Got Smile? Ha! My parents came over Saturday afternoon which was great. They have been so busy, so it was nice to see them. The girls liked seeing them too! Magnolia and Roxanne especially! Saturday night we went out to eat with Rusty and Monica, our first crabs of the season, very yummy. Not like Mike's but still good! I am ready for the guys to go crabbing, crabs on the deck is always such a great time! So we laughed and ate and had a great time!

Now today... hmmm.... Danny made us breakfast, husband is a fabulous cook, I am not, therefore he can do it! Ha! But I am a good Baker, and lets face it sweets are the best part! Church was good. We enjoyed the sermon and took a lot away from it. Which is great, sermons that are applicable to the everyday, I love it and learn so much! Then we came home he put the finishing touches on the patio, I worked out. Now here I am writing....a novel! Ha!

Now onto the week ahead! Which will be just as fun as the weekend, still loving my new position makes it easy to go into work, coming home to my husband makes the drive more exciting, and looking forward to another great weekend... what can I say! Bring it! Well except for my dentist appt. Tuesday morning, me and the dentist not a good pair, I am petrified of metal objects scraping against my teeth, you just cannot escape from that noise.... But I am not going to dwell on this now because I still have the rest of today and tonight one of my favorite TV shows returns with a new season.... Yay Army Wives!

My History

<span class=

Yay. Today I am taking a vacation day, and the best part is... Danny is home! We are going to to take a train ride through the country today and have lunch on the train. We are pretty excited about it! We love to try new things and see different places, making our own history! So History, I have give this a lot of thought lately. When most people think of history they think of great historical figures or events that we learned about in High School. But really, history is anything in the past! So while it may not be written in the history books, I make "my history" everyday! It's true, "my history" is my memories, my events, me and the things that surround my life. Today, the train ride, history. Yesterday, Shoe shopping with Kay at work, History. Last week, Sunday, Easter, History! see the theme. It is what you make of your time that makes history! And when I am older one day, reflecting on the past and telling my children and grandchildren "My History" well maybe it should be one for the books! My blog, what a great way to capture "my history"! What do you have to tell about your history? We may not all be Abe Lincoln, that's okay, what is fabulous is there is only one Julie Bankert and one YOU. Start making History today!

Say Yes to the Dress!

dressdressdressdressdresssdresssdressdress......

Or lack thereof! I have 2 weddings to attend in the next few months, 1 actually at the end of this month! I need a dress for both of them and have no idea where to begin. I need something that will travel well because both weddings are out of state and something that completely fits my personality! I just don't know what I want, and if you know me, thats usually not a problem- at least with clothes! Ha! I have started looking but nothing jumps out at me. Weddings are hard, you don't want to be overdressed, underdressed, and does it really matter because all eyes are on the Bride! But still I always like to look presentable and classy, and well, appropriately dressed!Ha! The tough part is that I despise trying things on, love to shop, but hate fitting rooms. All the drama of getting dressed and undressed and redressed and so on! I dread it but I may have to just go out one day and have a day at it until I find my perfect fit! Hmmm decisions, decisions!
